Tips and Tricks

The new booking calendar includes detailed descriptions and pictures of your rentals and tours. Pictures uploaded prior to December 2011 may not show correctly. If the picture(s) don’t show correctly, or if there is a black border at the bottom of the pictures, you will need to delete the existing pictures and upload new pictures. For best results, upload pictures in JPG or PNG format, with a resolution of 1280 x 1024 or 1024 x 768 pixels.

The new booking calendar does not include the ability to filter on products. If you currently use the productfilter to display a different calendar on different pages on your website, you should keep using the existing booking calendar.

The new booking calendar does not currently allow customers to purchase giftcards. If you sell giftcards for your rentals or tours, you can use the new booking calendar for reservations and continue to use the old version of the booking calendar for giftcards. The ability to sell giftcards will be added to the new booking calendar later on March 1, 2013.

The ability to view existing reservations and for customers to log in is not supported in the first version of the new booking calendar, but will be included later on March 1, 2013.

Other frequently asked questions:

Q: The new Booking Calendar looks amazing, but I will not be able to update my website for some time. Can I keep using the existing Booking Calendar?
A: Yes, of course. You can keep using the existing Booking Calendar if you prefer to do so.

Q: How do I upgrade the Booking Calendar and how long will it take?
A: In most cases the upgrade can be done in less than 10 minutes. However, if you are using custom stylesheets (most businesses don’t), you should expect the upgrade process to take a little longer.

Q: Does it cost anything?
A: In most cases, there will not be any charges for using the new Booking Calendar; however, if you process more than 500 reservations per month, additional fees may apply. Please contact our sales and support for more information.

Q: Does the new Booking Calendar support everything the old Booking Calendar did?
A: The new Booking Calendar is generally better in all regards. However, Point-To-Point reservations are not supported in the new Booking Calendar.
