New payment gateway available – Braintree

BraintreeYou’ve been asking for it and here it is. We are proud to announce that we just integrated a new payment gateway to our booking system. This is a great news as it will allow you to receive automatic online payments no matter where your business is based in Europe (check the list of the supported countries here). Also, it will make your booking process more automatic and very easy for your customers resulting in more reservations and less manual processes.

How to synchronize Braintree and WebReserv?

Once you have created your account with Braintree you will need to set it up in your WebReserv account. To do so, first of all, login to your WebReserv account.

Once you’re there, click Setup Business information Payments, then under Payment processing select Credit card – Auto process

Then go the field Payment Gateway and select Braintree and add your Merchant ID, password 1 and password 2.

Now you just need to setup the deposit you want to get for each product at the reservation time. To do so, click Setup – Products and reservation rules – select a product – Tax/deposit and setup your deposit. You can choose between charging the full payment, a percentage, a fix amount or other options.

Congratulations, your payment gateway has been setup; you can now receive online payments with your reservations.

Rate setup enhancement

WebReserv now supports a new rate option: per person (flat), which makes it easier to set up flat rates for reservations. At the same time the rate setup has been updated to make it easier to enter the rates.

As of August 31, 2009, when you create new rate lists, the rate that is entered in each column is the total rate for the number of people in that column.

In the example below, the rate for the first two people in the Standard Double room is $200.00. There is an extra charge of $50.00 per person, so the rate for three people is $250.00 and the rate for four people is $300.00.

Existing rate lists are not affected by this enhancement.

A convenient way to track your reservations

With the latest WebReserv release, it is now possible to name your products/rooms/units individually. This allows you to manage and track reservations and utilization at a completely new level. For example, you can track now only what your customer reserves, but you can track exactly what unit is rented out and returned.

To name your products, go to setup -> products and reservation rules -> product details. In the list you can name each product. Typical names are room numbers (for hotels), tag numbers (car and RV rentals), serial numbers (equipment) and so forth.

When a reservation is made, you can quickly see which unit(s) that has been assigned, and if needed you can reassign the units as needed.
